Noida (Uttar Pradesh): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is pursuing the anti-farmer policies because they have been obliged by the industrial houses.
"The BJP government pursuing anti-farmer policies because they have been obliged by the industrial houses. It portrays that BJP wants to help the corporate who eventually helped them during the elections, which is why they are trying to force this anti-farmer ordinance (land ordinance) as law," AAP spokesperson, Ashutosh told ANI here.
"The farmers from all over India are joining us to raise voice against the land acquisition bill. More than six lakh farmers have committed suicide. It shows how undemocratic his party is," he added.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is scheduled to hold a farmers rally at Jantar Mantar today, to protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government's Land Bill.
The party had to call off the proposed march to Parliament after Delhi Police reportedly denied the permission for the same.
The rally which will be addressed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, is likely to be attended by the farmers from Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Punjab, Haryana, Odisha and the Bundelkhand and Poorvanchal belt of Uttar Pradesh.
In another development, AAP has removed its parliamentary party leader Dharamvira Gandhi. The party replaced Mr Gandhi with Arvind Kejriwal loyalist and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann as the leader of the four-member group in the Lok Sabha.
As per reports, extra forces have been deployed to prevent the AAP supporters marching towards the Parliament and senior police officers would take action against anyone violating the orders.
Section 144 is already in force in the New Delhi area as the Parliament is in session.
Earlier on Tuesday, the AAP had announced a rally with the farmers of Delhi and other states to protest the Land Bill and the Central Government's attitude towards the farmers affected by crop damage.
