New Delhi: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's scheduled 'padyatra' in Telangana has been postponed for May 15 due to the extension of the Lok Sabha session till May 13.

"Due to extension of LS session till 13th May,Rahul Gandhi's Padyatra in Telangana will now happen on 15th May," Rahul Gandhi's office tweeted.

The Congress vice president was to undertake the 15 kilometre yatra on May 12, beginning from Telangana's Adilabad District and covering five villages.

Last month, Rahul undertook a day-long 'kisan padyatra' from Amravati to highlight the farmers' woes.

He travelled about 175 kilometres, including a 15-kilometre walk, through villages of Gunji and Shahapur in Dhamangaon Railway and Rajhna and Tonglabad in Chandur Railway talukas which have seen highest number of suicides this year.
