BJP Warns Congress Against Adding Gate To Make It Controversial. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday cautioned the Congress to avoid manufacturing controversies by adding \'gate\' to a name.

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday cautioned the Congress to avoid manufacturing controversies by adding 'gate' to a name.

"As far as the opposition is concerned, it should realise the fact that when a scandal does not exist, just by adding gate to a name, you cannot manufacture a controversy, you cannot manufacture a scandal," party spokesman Sambit Patra told ANI here.

Patra accused the Congress of following the dictum 'na kaam karenge, na kaam karne denge'.

"The opposition are threatening today to hold parliament to ransom. This is quite characteristic of the Congress Party. It is supposedly following the dictum 'na kaam karenge, na kaam karne denge' because in the last 10 years of the UPA rule, we had seen that the UPA government did not work, did not function and today we are seeing that they want that this government to also not function," said Patra.

"But this government is a strong government. It is a pro-people government. It is a proactive government. It will definitely roll out those bills and those regulations which are essential for the country," he added.

According to reports, the Congress had said that the only way for the BJP-led government at the Centre to save the monsoon session was to seek resignations of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.

The monsoon session of the Parliament is important for the government with several bills, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), lined up for clearance by the house.
