Jammu: Facing prospects of a stormy Monsoon Session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday acknowledged that there will be a 'muqabla' (contest). Modi, who was here to commemorate the birth centenary of leader Girdhari Lal Dogra, father-in-law of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, stated this while sharing the dais with Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad and senior Congress leader from J&K Karan Singh.

Making a strong pitch against ideological "untouchability" in politics, the Prime Minister noted that contradictions are the beauty of democracy. Pointing towards the Congress leaders, he said, "We all are sitting here (including Azad), but just wait to see the 'muqabla' (contest) we will have in some days".

Senior NDA ministers had on Thursday huddled to chalk out strategy for pushing the government's legislative business in the Monsoon Session beginning July 21, as opposition parties have closed ranks on issues like the Vyapam scam and Lalit Modi controversy.
