Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday had ordered an inquiry into alleged bribery case by a US firm Louis Berger International Inc to win as Project Management Consultant (PMC) of a water supply project under Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA).

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday had ordered an inquiry into alleged bribery case by a US firm Louis Berger International Inc to win as Project Management Consultant (PMC) of a water supply project under Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA).

Assam CM had directed to the Additional Chief Secretary of the state government Subhas Das to probe into the bribery case. “I have already directed to Additional Chief Secretary Subhas Das to probe into the alleged bribery case under GMDA,” Gogoi said to media in Guwahati on Monday.

“I asked to Additional Chief Secretary to submit the report soon, if any prima facie evidence found, I will refer it to CBI,” Assam CM said. The US firm Louis Berger International Inc had got jobs as consultant of a Guwahati water supply project under GMDA in 2010.
