Mamata Embarks On Five Day Britain Visit. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday embarked on a five-day visit to Britain to scout for investment in the state.

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday embarked on a five-day visit to Britain to scout for investment in the state.

Besides a host of industrialists, Banerjee is accompanied by Finance Minister Amit Mitra, Trinamool Congress MPs Derek O'Brien, Sugato Bose and Deepak Adhikari, Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee and city police chief Surajit Kar Purakayastha.

"Around 22-23 MoUs will be signed there," Banerjee told the media at the airport while exuding confidence of attracting investment for the state.

The industrials accompanying Banerjee include ITC chairman Y.C. Deveshwar, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group chairman Sanjiv Goenka, Ambuja Neotia Group chairman Harsh Neotia and Patton Group managing director Sanjay Budhia.

"We are very confident that this visit will have immense value in terms of collaborations in the fields of infrastructure development, township planning and tourism," said Budhia.

Banerjee is set to meet with UK India Business Council chair Patricia Hewitt and British Employment Minister Priti Patel. The visit followed an invitation from British Prime Minister David Cameron.
