New Delhi: Former Mumbai police commissioner and BJP MP Satyapal Singh on Thursday ruled out any possibility of a terror attack on August 15, saying the intelligence agencies and security forces are on high alert to thwart any attempt.

Singh, however, said that the terrorist groups will attack this country whenever they get a chance.

"Whether it is some national festival or a fair, they will attack. We can call these groups extremists. There is no point in making them understand. Till the time their training camp continues, incidents like these will keep taking place," Singh told ANI.

The BJP leader also paid his tribute to the two BSF jawans, who lost their lives in the Udhampur militant attack.

"The good thing is that one of the terrorists was arrested alive. He has clearly revealed that he is from Pakistan and what was his aim behind coming to Kashmir," Singh said.

"The terrorist has said that he came to attack the Amarnath Yatris, but intelligence agencies and police have been receiving these documents and paperworks, which state their plans and how they want to spread terrorism here, since a very long time," he added.

The investigation of the Udhampur terror attack will be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) team, which is expected to reach Jammu today. The team will interrogate the terrorist, who was captured yesterday in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir.
