Amity University Celebrates 69th Independence Day With Patriotic Fervor. The Amity University campus reverberated with \"Vande Matram\" and \"Jai Hind\" on the occasion of India\'s Independence Day.

Noida (Uttar Pradesh): The Amity University campus reverberated with "Vande Matram" and "Jai Hind" on the occasion of India's Independence Day.

Celebrations were marked with great joy, gaiety, splendor and patriotic fervor at Amity Campus, Sector 125 as students and staff were all decked up in the shade of saffron, white and green.

The campus was adorned with tricolour balloons, flags and various posters.

The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of Indian Flag which was accompanied with National Anthem. Students presented a cultural programme "Jashn-e-Azadi" including mashup of patriotic songs paying a tribute to the Freedom Fighters and other martyrs during the occasion.

Remembering the great freedom fighters of the nation, Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University, said that the country undertook struggle for freedom for 300 years by overcoming various challenges.

He stressed that the political freedom Indians achieved in 1947 was the culmination of decades-old struggle led by revolutionaries like Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Jawaharlal Nehru, Lala Lajpat Rai and Sardar Vallabhai Patel.

"Our country thus owes its independence to those true sons of our mother-land. He commended students for their brilliant performances which took them back several years and recreated the freedom struggle by the great martyrs," he said.

Dr. Chauhan called upon the students to respect the pride of Mother India and to contribute for development and growth of the nation.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh appreciated the patriotic performances of the students which brought out their love and respect for the Nation. She further added that Amity celebrates Independence Day as a family which gives Amitians a sense of belongingness and oneness.

During the programme, everyone shouted the slogans of "Vande Matram" ; "Jai Hind" and pledged to serve the nation and contribute to its progress.

The children and staff members who were beautifully dressed in tri color dresses and accessories were felicitated by the Chancellor of the University.

During the eve of Independence Day, students created a replica of "Amar Jawan Jyoti" infront of which thousands of diyas were lit by students, staff, faculty and management in memories of great martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the motherland.
