Every peace-loving individual disappointed with cancellation of talks: Farooq Abdullah

Jammu: National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah on Sunday said every individual, who wants peace, is disappointed with the cancellation of the NSA-level talks

"People in Poonch and Rajouri must be crying. People on our international border must be worried as to what is the next step, what will happen now. It's not a small matter of people dying. They are human beings, they have responsibilities. Now, they will have to cut their crops. How will they cut their crops when bombing is taking place? All these things are a big tragedy," said Abdullah.

The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister said the Hurriyat blaming India for cancellation of the talks is not something new.

"They will continue to say so because this is one of the biggest tragedy. They have been telling people of Kashmir all sorts of lies. Kashmir cannot move from what it is today. The Line of Control will not change for a thousand years they may try. Let's be honest to our people, let's tell our people the truth. Why are we bluffing our people for just few leaders, who want to shine on the blood of the innocent people? I feel very sorry about it," he added.

Abdullah said India did the right thing by not calling off the talks from its end.

"No.not at all. India.it is right thing. India did not call off the talks. Till the last minute, India was hoping that Pakistan will come and talk on terror. They had kept their doors wide open, unfortunately Pakistan closed its doors," he said.

Abdullah said everybody was hoping that something better would come out post the talks and the bombing on the borders and crossing of militants would stop.

"I think Pakistan does not realize that how terrorism is eating their own land. Every day they have also incidences where lots of people die. If they do not want to stop terrorism, India cannot help; there is no way India can help," he added.

Abdullah further said that India has enough evidence on everything, including terrorism.

"As far as terrorism is concerned, it has evidence of Dawood being in Karachi. India has enough evidence but the tragedy is Pakistan is no ready to accept those evidences," he added.

Abdullah further said both nations should now carry forward the talks in a neutral country.

"I think the way forward is they can't talk in this country or in Pakistan. They have to find another third neutral country where they can talk. I don't see otherwise there is going to be ever any breakthrough between these two nations," he said.
