Telcos may have to foot call drop penalty: Trai

New Delhi: In order to compensate users for every call drop, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has reportedly decided to penalise the telcos.
According to a report, the compensation could be Rs 1 per call drop and not more than three calls will be compensated in a single day.
However, sectoral regulator TRAI on Thursday said there is no significant improvement in the call drop issue in Mumbai and Delhi as operators are lagging on various fronts in meeting the standards.
