Oil and Natural Gas Company (ONGC) CMD Dinesh Kumar Sarraf has become the new President of the All India Public Sector Sports Promotion Board (AIPSSPB).

New Delhi: Oil and Natural Gas Company (ONGC) CMD Dinesh Kumar Sarraf has become the new President of the All India Public Sector Sports Promotion Board (AIPSSPB).

Sarraf took over the charge from the past president A. K. Balyan, former MD and CEO of Petronet LNG, in 5th Executive Board Meeting of the All India body, held here yesterday.

AIPSSPB is a national sports organization established to promote, aid, assist and organize sports, all kinds of indoor and outdoor games, cultural activities, social activities, fine arts in the Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) with a view to promoting the health and welfare as well as recreation of their employees and their families.

It holds, sponsor, organize, and arrange facilities for tournaments, coaching camps, exhibition matches, sports and cultural activities, indoor and outdoor games.

Various representatives of other member PSUs like IOC, LIC, BHEL, FCI, EPFO, took part in the meeting, which also bid a graceful adieu to the outgoing AIPSSPB President A. K. Balyan.

During the meeting, Executive Vice President of AIPSSPB D. D. Misra outlined his thoughts to the Board to diversify the activities of the sports body.

President Sarraf, appreciated Board's activities and emphasized induction of more members to participate in Board events and leverage Board contributions in promoting sports among PSUs.

He also assured past president that he will carry forward the rich legacy of AIPSSPB leadership for all-round sports promotion in the country.
