Bhopal: International Karate player Vandana Suryavanshi, once a champion, is now selling tea to make her ends meet. Having played matches both at the national and international level, Vandana also gives Karate coaching classes.

Several of her students have also played matches at the national level. She urged the Government to take cognizance of such players and redeem them from their pitiable condition.

While speaking to ANI, Vandana said she won gold medal in Pune and silver medal in Katmandu in 2014.

"I had been a Karate Champion. I have played at inter-state, district and national level. I played at international level in 2014 at Kathmandu and got silver medal. I got gold medal in Pune during my nationals in 2014. Now, I run this tea stall and I am also giving Karate classes. It has been three years that I sell tea," Vandana Suryavanshi told ANI here.

"It was my dream since childhood to be a karate player. I expect the government to help me financially or in getting job which will also raise the confidence of other karate players," she added.
