Amid criticism from all corners on the suspension of five students from the University of Hyderabad, the university on Thursday revoked the suspension of the other four students.


Five students, all belonging to the Ambedkar Students Association (ASA) were suspended by the administration 12 days ago. One of the five Dalit research scholars, Rohith Vemula hanged himself to death.


The Dalit student’s death has sparked protests country wide and many political leaders across the country visited the university to express solidarity with the protesting students.


The students have been strongly demanding the revoking of the suspension of the the Dalit research scholars by staging dharnas in the campus. On Friday, the administration announced that the suspension of Prasanth, Vijay, Seshiah and Sunanda had been revoked.
