Week Wrap: Highlights
Two bills were passed by Rajya Sabha during the week. These were the Carriage by Air (Amendment) Bill and the High Court and the Supreme Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Amendment Bill.

The discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address concluded in Lok Sabha. The Prime Minister replied to the debate. The discussion was more than 12 hours long and 127 members participated in the debate.

Discussion on the Motion of Thanks in Rajya Sabha continued through the week. Discussion on the Railway budget began in the Lower House.

The Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Bill, 2016 was introduced by the Finance Minister yesterday. Earlier in the week, the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order (Amendment) Bill was also introduced.

The last ten days in legislatures saw the presentation of budgets and finances. The Railway and Union budget was presented in Parliament. Several states have also presented their budgets. Madhya Pradesh Budget: The Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister, Mr. Jayant Mallayya, presented the Budget for Madhya Pradesh for the financial year 2016-17 on February 26, 2016.
