New Delhi/Lucknow : Describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA as a 'fascist government', the Congress Party on Sunday said it is the Centre's habit to topple the democratically-elected governments.

"It has become the habit of the Bharatiya Janata Party to topple the democratically elected governments. Unless the video is properly seen, no comment should be made. You can see that many videos are being doctored," Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit told ANI.

He alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to destablise development done by the Congress Government in Uttarakhand.

"The government was elected for five years. So, undemocratically elected government seems to have become a practice of the fascist government of Narendra Modi," he added.

Strongly condemning the sting operation done on Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat, another Congress leader Pramod Tiwari told ANI that it has become the BJP's habit to make fake stings, adding that it should change its name to 'Bharatiya Jhooti Sting Party'.

"If nine MLAs leave among 37, it cannot be a situation where the people are changing sides. They are threatening of President's rule. Now, the BJP stands exposed. In order to save itself from that, the BJP is talking about fake sting. It is not tolerable that cases like Uttarakhand are happening. The people will take revenge in Assam for Uttarakhand in the coming elections," he added.

The rebel Congress legislators yesterday released a sting video of Chief Minister Rawat and alleged that he is indulging in horse-trading to save his government.

The video purportedly showed him bargaining with rebel party legislators to win their support ahead of the floor test on Monday.

The fate of the nine rebel Congress MLAs would be decided today ahead of the trial of strength in Uttarakhand Assembly as lawyers of these legislators met Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal in a last ditch attempt to prevent action against them.

Disqualification of the rebel MLAs will deprive them of the right to vote against Harish Rawat-led government which is slated to go for a floor test tomorrow in the state assembly.
