Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders will appear before a Delhi court on Thursday in criminal defamation case filed by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

Besides Kejriwal, AAP leaders Kumar Vishwas, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and Deepak Bajpai have been asked to appear before the court.

The court summoned them for the alleged offences under Sections 500 (criminal defamation) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Jaitley had alleged that Kejriwal and the five AAP leaders had made defamatory statements against him and his family.

Jaitley had said Kejriwal's statement that he received money, when the Ferozshah Kotla Stadium was constructed during his tenure as the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) chief, was false.
