US Secretary of State John Kerry and Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday and discussed progress in bilateral engagements since Modi\'s visit to the US in June, 2016.

New Delhi: US Secretary of State John Kerry and Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday and discussed progress in bilateral engagements since Modi's visit to the US in June, 2016.

An official statement said the two visiting secretaries briefed the Prime Minister on the second India-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue that concluded in New Delhi on Tuesday.

"They discussed progress in bilateral engagement since the Prime Minister's visit to the US in June, 2016. Secretary Kerry also shared US perspective on developments in the region and beyond with the Prime Minister," the statement said.

It said the Prime Minister conveyed satisfaction at the expanded and strengthened strategic partnership between India and the United States over the past two years which has opened up new vistas for collaboration.

Modi conveyed that he looked forward to rapid progress and successful completion of the decisions taken with US President Barack Obama in June meeting.

Modi also conveyed that he looked forward to meeting the US President at the G-20 Summit in Hangzhou, China.
