​New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday released a stamp to commemorate the 1000th Birth Anniversary of social reformer, scholar and Saint Ramanujacharya.

Modi recalled the central message of Saint Ramanujahcarya's life and said the inclusive society that he dreamt was still eluding the country. The Saint had rebelled against the caste system and treated every one as equals.

The event was attended by His Holiness Shri Tridandi Chinna Ramanuja Jeer Swamy, who later hailed the contribution made by Ramanujacharya to the society.

The message of Ramanuja that propounded universal brotherhood, peace and equality should be the beacon light of the society, he said.

Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and Jupally Rameshwar Rao of My Home were also present.
