The Indian Army on Wednesday rescued an American citizen, who was badly injured during paragliding in Himachal Pradesh.

Palampur (Himachal Pradesh) : The Indian Army on Wednesday rescued an American citizen, who was badly injured during paragliding in Himachal Pradesh.

The rescued paraglider, identified as Barry Roberts, had got stuck on a rock at a height of about 15,000 feet from the ground level in Baijnath area of Kangra district while paragliding.

International Emergency Response Coordination Center approached the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) airport for SOS rescue, who further alerted the Deputy Commissioner.

Since the paraglider could not be rescued by foot, Indian Army helicopter was pressed in search for him.

The paraglider was later shifted to Delhi.
