In the 37th edition of his monthly ‘Mann ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Indian Army for playing an important role in the United Nation’s peacekeeping mission.

Bringing focus on India’s peacekeeping efforts, he said that Indian Jawaans have become a peacekeeping force across the globe and lauded the soldier for making the nation proud.

Informing the stats, PM Modi shared that the Indian soldiers lent their services in around 50 of the 71 Peacekeeping operations undertaken by the UN till August 2017 in Korea, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Congo, Cyprus, Liberia, Lebanon, Sudan and in several other parts of the world.

The Prime Minister also stated that the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights is a testimony to India’s push for gender equality.
