New Delhi : Minister for Human Resource and Development Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday approved reservation for the Other Backward Castes(OBCs) students in NCERT conducted talent search examination.

The second stage (national level) of National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) will now include quotas for OBCs, which is an addition to reservations for SC, ST and PH category students as per Central government norms.

The reservation will be effective from 2019 as the procedure for NTSE 2018 has already been commenced.The amount of scholarship has also been increased to Rs 1250 for Class XI, XII, and Rs 2000 for UGs and PGs students.

Established by the Government of India in the year 1961, NTSE awards scholarships to students on the basis of a written examination, a project report and interview.
