In a shocking incident that took place in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur, two youth were left to die by some policemen after they met with a road accident.

In a video that went viral, two youngsters are seen bleeding on the road while three policemen are standing around with no one coming forward to help the victims.

According to a report in NDTV, the policemen’s main concern was that the blood of the wounded boys would soil their vehicle.

An acquaintance of one of the two teenagers is heard pleading in the video to take them to a hospital as nobody else has a car while another man is heard saying to the cops that the vehicle could be washed.

However, the policemen didn’t relent as they retorted with, "If the car gets washed, then where will we sit all night".

The boys, identified as Arpit Khurana and Sunny met with an accident on Thursday midnight while the policemen who were on night patrol duty as part of the state police's Dial 100 project refused to help the victims.

The attempts to flag down passing vehicles for help also were unsuccessful and it was too late by the time another vehicle from the local police arrived at the accident spot.

The boys were rushed to the hospital where the doctors declared they were brought dead.

Following this incident, the three policemen were suspended on Friday.

DIG (Saharanpur range) Sunil Emannuel told Times Of India, "We have taken exemplary action against the three cops. We cannot tolerate the kind of inhuman treatment that was meted out to those in dire need of help. They (the three cops) are already under suspension. If, after the inquiry that has been set up, their irresponsible and immoral conduct is conclusively established, further action will be taken against them.”
