Atmanand to helm MDI Gurgaon
Dr Atmanand, Director of Management Development Institute MDI Murshidabad has been given additional charge as director MDI Gurgaon one of the finest BSchools of India established in the year 1973 Dr Atmanand assumed office on 04 October, 2018
New Delhi: (Dr.) Atmanand, Director of Management Development Institute (MDI) -- Murshidabad has been given additional charge as director MDI-Gurgaon -- one of the finest B-Schools of India established in the year 1973. Dr. Atmanand assumed office on 04 October, 2018.
Dr. Atmanand is a great leader, deep researcher, professor and writer. The institute says it is privileged to have Dr. Atmanand as Director as he has been associated with MDI Gurgaon for the last 20 years in multiple roles.
He has worked as Founder Dean of the prestigious MDI School of Energy Management, Dean of Executive Post Graduate Programs and School of Public Policy and Governance, Senior Dean & Senior Professor of Economics, In-charge Acting Director at MDI Gurgaon and Founder Dean at MDI Murshidabad.
He has directed more than 90 training programs and MDPs. He was the Ph.D. examiner and guided around 30 theses and dissertation work.
Sharing his visionary insights for MDI Gurgaon Prof. (Dr.) Atmanand said, “Our strength lies in our innovative, learning-oriented teaching practices and contemporary industry-specific curriculum, which is strongly backed-up by our sturdy corporate interface.

During a brief span of five years when the School of Energy Management was launched with the help of USAID and the Ministry of Power, Government of India¸ he turned the school into a countrywide popular place of higher learning.
Appreciating his devotion and involvement, the Government of India’s Ministry of Power has issued a letter of appreciation, putting on record his efficient and dedicated services.
Many organizations have also acknowledged the great leadership profile and contribution of Dr. Atmanand in an area of quality education in B-Schools.
Besides playing a key and decisive role in MDI’s intellectual and leadership functioning¸ Dr. Atmanand has held various national responsibilities including his association as Member of the State Finance Commission¸ Government of Bihar and with the Planning Commission, Government of India.
Dr. Atmanand has been all over the globe in missions related to education, research, consultancy and teaching.
He serves an Independent Director on the Board of Central Bank of India and prior to that he has worked as the Independent Director on the Board of Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL), Government of India.
He is the recipient of coveted and prestigious Rashtriya Gaurav Award for his excellence and contribution to nation-building.
He has the honour of receiving the Indian Achievers Award for Corporate Leadership 2010 and Economic Development Award for Excellence in Higher Education 2011.
