BJP and Congress accused of “double talk” and “dirty games”
The BJPRSS combine and Congress have been accused of indulging in double talk and playing dirty games by the key players of the Left Democratic Front government in Kerala, CPM and CPI Over the Sabarimala issue to target the state government
NEW DELHI: The BJP-RSS combine and Congress have been accused of indulging in “double talk” and playing “dirty games” by the key players of the Left Democratic Front government in Kerala, CPM and CPI. Over the Sabarimala issue to target the state government.
S Ramachandran Pillai the member of the CPM politburo has accused the NDA and Congress-led UDF of trying to deepen the chaos among the Sabarimala devotees to gain support. “They are trying to depict the issue as a dispute between believers and non-believers. Both NDA and UDF are trying to make use of the unhappiness of conservative sections which do not appreciate the appointment of Dalits as pujaris in temples and reservation for backward communities, Dalits and Adivasis in appointments to Devaswom Board,” Pillai said.
CPM’s claim was supported by Sudhakar Reddy the general secretary of CPI who said it was “very unfortunate” that BJP and Congress were working in contravention of the SC verdict, which allowed the entry of women of all ages into the hill shrine.
The BJP-RSS combine had gladly received the judgment of the SC at the national level but were opposing it in the state, Reddy said. “So, this is a dirty game. They want to fight behind communalism. There are many such beliefs among people which are unscientific. This should not continue and RSS-BJP should not indulge in double talk, one at the Centre and one at the state level,” he said.
He clarified that the Kerala government could not file a review petition, as it had already registered an affidavit in the SC which stated that it had no objection over women praying at the Sabarimala.
