Temperature in the national capital to hover around 13-degree Celsius

NEW DELHI: On Thursday morning the temperature in Delhi is likely to hover around 13-degree Celsius. The minimum temperature might drop even more by evening but any significant change regarding the temperature is ruled out for a couple of days.

The weather experts have said that the day will be engulfed with shallow fog and mist will also be witnessed during the morning hours. Light winds with a wind speed of 8 to 10 kilometers per hour will blow from the west or the west-north-west direction.

On Wednesday, Delhi had witnessed the coldest morning of the season with the minimum temperature dropping to 8-degree Celsius, a notch below the normal temperature. The humidity level was recorded to be at 97 per cent.

Reports have read that “The evidence is clear that climate change is already having a serious impact on human lives and health. It threatens the basic elements we all need for good health—clean air, safe drinking water, nutritious food supply, and safe shelter—and will undermine decades of progress in global health. We can’t afford to delay action any further.”

The report read that the air pollution by itself kills as many as 7 million people in the world every year and it costs the welfare losses worth US $5.11 trillion. The 15 countries, which emit the most of the greenhouse gas, and spend 4 percent of their gross domestic product (GDP) for the betterment of health due to the impacts caused by air pollution. 

In the report by WHO, it also added that the participants must also promote the role of the cities and sub-national governments in the climate action. Lastly, the WHO said that the fiscal policy must also comprise of health implications of mitigation and the adaptation measures.
