41-year-old man cheats woman by fleeing with 90 lakh
In the city of Bangalore the police had arrested a man a 41yearold man who faked to be a choreographer, and had cheated a woman by taking Rs 90 lakh after he had promised to marry her and he had also offered her roles in movies and serials
BENGALURU: In the city of Bangalore the police had arrested a man a 41-year-old man who faked to be a choreographer, and had cheated a woman by taking Rs 90 lakh after he had promised to marry her and he had also offered her roles in movies and serials.
Vadiraj Gowda also known as Satish Kumar aka Abhishek alias Abhiram, who is a resident of Subedarpalya in Yeshwanthpur, was taken into custody recently from the Salem district in the state of Tamil Nadu.
The woman said that, Gowda had befriended her on Facebook in January 2017 and he claimed that he has connections with many film producers and directors. “He told me that he’s a bachelor. Knowing that I’m a divorcee, he proposed me. Trusting him, I lived with him for nearly a year. During that period, he promised to purchase BDA plots for cheaper rates and asked me to get money from relatives and friends.”
By mid 2018, the woman had put together a total of Rs 90 lakh from 45 different people, including her sister. “But after that, he started avoiding me. I was under pressure from my sister and others who had given me money. He did not give any convincing reply to questions about sites. One day, he ran away and his cellphone remained switched off,” the woman said.
Gowda has cheated many more people in such ways, the police suspected.
