BELAGAVI: World class road safety pilot project was inaugurated by CM H D Kumaraswamy on Friday. 62 km stretch of road between Belagavi and Yaragatti which was upgraded under the project.
After inaugurating the road, a joint programme of police, PWD, health, education and transport
Kumaraswamy said, “We will gradually develop all state highways on the lines of Belagavi-Yaragatti stretch”.
The road passing through Sambra airport developed at an approximate cost of Rs 90 crore on a pilot basis. World Bank has contributed 80 percent of funds, remaining is shared by the state government.
Kumaraswamy watched a short video on how the project works in safeguarding the lives. He also inaugurated the calendar, radio jingles and other campaign material on the occasion.
Other Transport ministers along with D C Thammanna, MLA Satish Jariholi were also present in the inauguration ceremony.
