Andhra Pradesh State Bifurcation: Why Leaders Change Their Stands. The whole series of past events connected with a particular person or thing is called history. Not necessarily the entire history of Telangana agitation, but just an overview of the happenings in the last four years would give us a peek of the chameleon like qualities of our leaders.

The whole series of past events connected with a particular person or thing is called history. Not necessarily the entire history of Telangana agitation, but just an overview of the happenings in the last four years would give us a peek of the chameleon like qualities of our leaders.

The episode began with KCR’s indefinite strike which began on November 29, 2009. Almost all leaders backed the cause for his indefinite hunger strike and went on backing the leader, unconditionally. But, just after the union government’s decision on December 9, 2009, the entire scene changed within no time.

There after, many such incidents took place; and the politicians turned to be a type of chameleon like beings. The question here is: why do the leaders change their stands every now and then. Is it the late realization of their mistakes in the beginning or the personal benefit that make these politicians to shift their stands, time and again?

Andhra Pradesh State Bifurcation

Due to the ongoing debate on Telangana draft bill in the state assembly, the entire episode is memorized. The never remembered politicians like Boorgula Ramakrishna Rao, K.V. Ranga Reddy, Suravaram Pratap Reddy, Swamy Ramananda Theerta, Madapati Hanumanta Rao. However, the same leaders have been remembered by almost all leaders who support Samaikyandhra (united Andhra Pradesh), just to emphasize the importance of keeping the state united. The question that arises in every Telugu person is why the history of those eminent leaders has never been included in the text books, if our contemporary leaders are so concerned for them? Why they are remembered only at this crucial juncture?

It is not only the people from Telangana region, but also the people from the entire Andhra Pradesh poses the same question. As the leaders from either region divided on their stands, the people are kept away from the veracity of facts. There is a need to project the facts to the masses.

Why Leaders Change Their Stands
I contradict the statement of the great Telugu poet Sri Sri who once said
తారీఖులు దస్తావేజులు కాదోయ్ చరిత్రకు నిదర్శనాలు - శ్రీ శ్రీ when literally translated it means “Dates and documents are not the evidences of the history”. In this contemporary era of Satmass media, the video recordings of every instance will surely turn to be an evidence of my opinion. However, there is no guarantee that news papers or magazines will project the veracity of the facts, as with their analytical versions, print media turns to be one of the unbelievable sources of veracity of facts to the most.

If we clearly examine the statements of the leaders before and after the decision made for state bifurcation, clearly we see a 180º flip in their both versions of the statements. Why do politicians play with the emotions of the people? Problems may be of any kind, the suffers always remain constant i.e. a common man.

In this contemporary situation wherein the media itself bifurcated in the bifurcating state of India, the only option left with the people who want to know the veracity facts is the neutral media. Such neutral channels should not take sides at any cast, as they are the only sources of factual information. After all truth alone prevails (Satyamev Jayate).
