Former CM Kiran Kumar Reddy's Party Will Benefit Whom. Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who has been wavering on the issue of launching a political party, has finally made up his mind and announced his decision to form a new party to uphold Telugu pride and strive for the cause of Telugu people.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Kiran said the party's name, agenda and other details would be disclosed during the launch of party at a public meeting at Rajahmundry on March 12. He said that the main objective of his party would be uphold the prestige and dignity of Telugu people which, he said, had been hurt very badly by the bifurcation of the State.
His announcement makes it clear that Kiran Kumar Reddy will float a new party, for sure. Now the question that arises in everybody’s mind is whether Kiran Kumar will get any benefit by floating a new party. If the answer is 'No', then who else would get the benefit out of Kiran’s new party?
The clear analysis of the entire current political scenario in Andhra Pradesh state reveals the fact that few leaders like Kiran Kumar Reddy, Undavalli Arun Kumar, Lagadapati Rajagopal, Rayapati Samba Siva Rao and many such prominent leaders of Congress Party who faced torment from their own party have three options before them to contest the impending general elections. The same are:
- Joining any other prominent party
- Contesting as an Independent
- Floating a new party under able leadership
Option I - Joining any other prominent party: Leaders of such statures find it tough to choose the option to migrate to some other party, after attaining a good position in one particular party. For very prominent leaders like Kiran Kumar Reddy, it’s a matter of prestige that drags them back further and further to not go with this particular option.
Option II - Contesting as an Independent: Surely it is not a befitting option for the leaders who want to maintain the same stature in their political career, as choosing such an option may get them a sure win in the elections, but that may not fetch them the same position as earlier.
Option III - Floating a new party under able leadership: This option turns to be the most befitting option to all such leaders to come under a single umbrella to contest elections. This option has the following benefits:
- Winning at least few seats on their party symbol and thereby getting good clutch in the government by making an alliance with the party that comes into power.
- Establishing the party now, and getting prepared for the next elections by building party’s cadre by that time.
- Establishing themselves among the masses as the leaders for the people
In view of the above merits, there is no astounding fact that Kiran Kumar Reddy joined hands with other rebels of Congress Party to float a new party. However, for sure, the party will not create a hype (even this might have been speculated by Kiran Kumar Reddy & Co). However, it will achieve all the above purposes indubitably over a period of time.
Kiran’s new party will certainly split the vote banks of the major parties. Which will be the party that gets affected mostly is a mere chance of probability. Nevertheless, surely the blow of Kiran’s new party will be shared by all parties that include Congress, BJP, TDP and YSR Congress Party, rationally. As the very object of floating the new party is against the spirit of Telangana people, it may not have an impact in this region to a great extent as in Seemandhra.
So, one or other party will get certainly benefitted by Kiran’s new party in Seemandhra. Nevertheless, for sure it is not Kiran’s own party that will get benefitted.
In view of the above Kiran Kumar turns put to be the ‘man for other parties'…!!!
