Civil society of United States of America is now caught in the grip of terrorism. Freedom is in the peril either from the police (who themselves are feeling insecure) or from terrorists(ISIS). It’s a challenging situation for the Obama administration to convince the Black community that their police is not racist. It could be incidental or otherwise Blacks are being crushed by White police officers that too without much aggression from victims. This is causing lot of frustration and anger among the civil society and causing revolt on policing system. An aggressive attitude is the nature of police and when its pointed out by media and local justice system , the police system gets further aggression and results in more errors.

U.S. being the big brother of freedom and civil rights liberties advocate is now in a position of indecisiveness. Most unfortunate in this matter is there are no correct statistics with FBI to tell how many civilians are killed in the hands of police in a year. But they do have accurate account of how many police officials are killed in the hands of civilians. As per media reports(Washington Post) over 1100-1200 people are getting killed in the hands of police in a year(2014).

Though Incidents of this kind happens in several parts of the world when they assume the colours of racism, repeated incidents against a particular community whether its incidental or otherwise they tend to destroy the bonding between the policing and civil society. Police who assumes the role of a saviour becomes an antisocial element and people loose confidence in policing. A sense of fear and insecurity prevails in the minds of the general public and they in turn tends to behave suspicious when they encounter police in a close spot. These circumstances make police to take situation into their hands and at times they commit fatal errors. U.S. administration has to deal carefully with this situation as their police is already under tremendous pressure from the terror threats across the Globe from several Islamic jihadi groups, and also from North Korea. The present situation is US is more of a psychological problem and decisions of miscalculation. Police department and civil society groups should join their hands to openly accept mutual misdeeds and come to an understanding at this hour of need. Civil disobedience beyond a point is also causes havoc and leads the administration to take steps which cuts short of civilian freedom.
