Media has been withholding the power in presenting the news and developments across the world in a matter of seconds making it the fourth estate of democracy. Even with its stellar role, media on certain occasions turns extremely insensitive without considering the gravity of the situation or the sentiments of the people involved. Be it print or visual media, the quest to remain in the top of the business and beat the competitors results in the basic things being overlooked.

Without verification of the story, many publish or air the story that turns out to be entire false. But no apology is rendered for the mistake or instead an apology is scrolled in small letters that is not visible to anyone turning it into insensitive character assassination.

In certain instants, without reaching out to the people affected in the deadly terror attacks, natural calamities and accidents, the whole incident is shot in camera without considering the shock of the people suffering.

Some even try to get interviews of army personnel during the time their operations are being conducted which is a move that can help the rivals in the situation. The best example is when media aired live visuals on Taj attack operations where terrorists planned counter strategies by following the live feeds.

Its time media realize the responsibility towards the public. As much as gathering the news is important, the significance should lie even on the authenticity and gravity on the situation.
