Ban porn sites, save youth

A few days ago, the Supreme court of India asked the Centre to take steps and frames rules to stop access to websites featuring child pornography, classifying them as obscene and a threat to social morality. Pornography is spreading like moral cancer and freedom of speech cannot create a dent in the national character or moral dent.

Salahuddin Ayubi said If you want to destroy any nation without war, make adultery or nudity common in the young generation. Anti-pornography feminists say that consumption of pornography is a cause of rape and other forms of violence against women. Robin Morgan summarises this idea with her often-quoted statement, "Pornography is the theory, and rape is the practice."

Feminists charge that pornography eroticises the domination, humiliation and coercion of women, and reinforces sexual and cultural attitudes that are complicit in rape and sexual harassment. MacKinnon argued that pornography leads to an increase in sexual violence against women through fostering rape myths. Such rape myths include the belief that women really want to be raped and that they mean yes when they say no. Additionally, according to MacKinnon, pornography desensitises viewers to violence against women, and this leads to a progressive need to see more violence in order to become sexually aroused, an effect she claims is well documented.

Nudity and pornography are an addiction which leads to other crimes including drugs, murder, rape, abduction, child molestation, and incest. One leads to another until a person pays for that crime behind bars for many years to come. It is not as innocuous as people claim. It is a perversion. There are clubs of sex alcoholics just like Alcoholics Anonymous or where people share their previous experiences in order to enter therapy.

German radical feminist Alice Schwarzer is one proponent of this point of view, in particular in the feminist magazine Emma. Many opponents of pornography believe that pornography gives a distorted view of men and women's bodies, as well as the actual sexual act, often showing the performers with synthetic implants or exaggerated expressions of pleasure, as well as fetishes that are not the norm, such as water sports, being presented as popular and normal.

Ted Bundy, a serial killer, admitted that his criminal behavior began by watching movies on bondage and pornography. Child pornography is another disease. Child slave trade for sex involves five million children worldwide.

A clear distinction had to be made between art and obscenity. Watching nudity desensitizes men and women to normal sexual stimulus. Finally, it is a waste of time. The time that is spent on vain desires and pursuit of happiness at the cost of others can be utilised to improve knowledge by reading good books, doing housework, sports, exercise or perhaps of remembrance of God because to Him is our return. Pornography, thus, is neither educational nor entertainment, but a disease and an addiction and one should avoid it.

If we want to save our young generation who are the future of the nation, Central and State governments should ban the obscenity in all forms art, films and pornography websites.
