Nizamabad: In-Charge Collector K Harshavardhan, accompanied by other officials, inspected several colonies in the town on Monday. Later, at a review meeting, he had instructed the officials to work for the improvement of basic amenities in the colonies.

Mr Harshavardhan inspected Ahmedpura Colony, Kojja Colony, Muzahidnagar and Malapalli colonies and spoke to the residents. He held a review meeting at the municipal commissioner’s chamber. He asked the civic officials to take measures to clear the sewage lines and to remove garbage regularly in the town. The municipal officials have to arrange garbage collecting points in the colonies so that it would be easier to collect the garbage for civic workers.

The In-Charge Collector has said that notices were issued to 97 old buildings which are in dilapidated condition. Of them, 12 buildings were dismantled and action would be taken on the other houses, the Collector said. There are several old buildings at Kotagalli, Kumargalli and other places. The municipal officials have to take the help from police officials for demolishing the old buildings, Mr Harshavardhan suggested. Nizamabad In-charge Municipal Commissioner Manga Thayaru, Medical and Health Officer Sirajuddin and other officials were present.
