Seethaphalmandi: Desilting activity of the Mahmoodguda nala began in full swing at Seethaphalmandi, here on Tuesday. After silt deposit in the nala increased, water flow got reduced encouraging mosquitoes to breed on it. "Due to the downpour a few months ago, a lot of sand and solid wastes from the roads were carried down to the nalas, which is why the problem got triggered," explained Lakshmi, a resident.
Corporator Samala Hema, Deputy Engineer Paramesh and Ward Member Zakir inspected the site and assured the residents their grievances would end soon. Around five safai karmacharis of GHMC are working day in and day out to restore the water in the nala. Speaking on the same, Hema said, "If small problems like these are nipped in the bud, critical health problems may very well be eradicated."
