Sushma poser to Rajnath

Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj is the brightest face of the BJP. Sadly though, she is the lone face of the BJP. The saffron party was never known to be pro-women. In fact, even Sushma Swaraj was handpicked by L K Advani in 1993 as the BJP spokesperson to effectively articulate the party position, in the wake of the horrendous destruction of Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992. That job was commendably done by Sushma Swaraj. After her there has not been a notable face at her level. In a lighter vein, Sushma Swaraj recently articulated it on the face of BJP president Rajnath Singh. In a light-hearted way Sushma Swaraj asked Rajnath Singh why he dropped women from the team of BJP General Secretaries. Rajnath set a record by not including even a single woman. In the outgoing team of Nitin Gadkari, Kiran Maheshwari was BJP general secretary, but presently she has been made BJP vice-president. Rajnath brought in a host of women spokespersons like Nirmala Sitharaman, Meenakshi Lekhi and informally the likes of Kiron Kher and Shaina N C. It created a mirage that women are given a lot of importance in the BJP. None other than Sushma Swaraj sought to prick the bubble of the BJP!
