That was the day the Janata Party passed its resolution expelling all those associated with the RSS, on the ground that dual-membership was not acceptable. Advani went on to claim that the BJP was founded on April 6, 1980, which coincided with Easter Sunday, when Jesus rose from the dead.

A wag wondered that if that analogy of Advani were to be stretched further, choice of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the BJP prime ministerial candidate was made on Friday, the 13th . Normally it is considered unlucky in Western superstition, as compared to Friday falling on any other date. How it impacts Modi’s poll prospects, is the question. Or, is it that Advani should be happy with the latest coincidence, as well!
