Many middle level as well as senior most leaders of Telugu Desam Party, who were rendering service to the party since its inception, were sore over the way the party organisational elections were held on Saturday in electing the party MLAs as urban and rural district presidents.

Visakhapatnam: Many middle level as well as senior most leaders of Telugu Desam Party, who were rendering service to the party since its inception, were sore over the way the party organisational elections were held on Saturday in electing the party MLAs as urban and rural district presidents.

However, six persons eyed the urban president post, while seven rural district president post and a meeting was held by Deputy Chief Minister and Visakha Lok Sabha constituency observer N Chinnarajappa and another party observer N Ramanaidu to elicit the opinion of local MLAs, MP, MLCs and the local Ministers on the selection of both urban and rural district chiefs.

Majority of the participants opted Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar as urban president and Ch Venkata Pattabhiram as general secretary while Yelamanchili MLA Panchakarla Ramesh Babu as rural district president. The names were sent to the party National President N Chandrababu Naidu for his nod. Later, the urban and rural district presidents will fill-up other posts before Mahanadu. Many middle level leaders eyed the posts were irked with the party concept of ignoring senior most leaders carrying the party flags for about three decades.
