ARTS2 Vijayawada: The art of painting helps children grow mentally, observed N Ravi Kumar, art teacher at Montessori schools here on Sunday. He was inaugurating the one-month summer camp at the local Spoorthi Creative Art School. Speaking on the occasion, he said that arts would help children bring out their hidden talents. They promote creative thinking, imagination and creative skills among children, he said. He advised the students to utilised summer holidays constructively. Improve your skills and become an expert in your field of interest, he told the children. School director G Srinivas informed that the children would be trained in hand drawing, pencil shading, painting, calligraphy, micro arts, photography, photo shop, 2D and 3D animation and many more in the summer camp that runs for one full month. Field trips, seminars, workshops, pencil shading contests, mega arts and others are a unique way of making students pick up arts. Later the programme continued with the award ceremony, where Anushka Yadav of 9th class received the Best Budding Artist Award for the year 2012-13. The painting exhibition organised by the artists Kavya and Manjusha stood as a major attraction. Students interested in the camp can call 98493 55339 for further details, she said.
