rally2 Eluru: A prominent YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader from coastal region and Eluru MLA Alla Nani on Monday charged Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy with adopting vindictive policy while dealing with MLAs supporting the new political party led by YS Jaganmohan Reddy, son of former chief minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy. He organised a huge show of his strength as part of his Praja Nirasana Deeksha, a people's protest programme, for which thousands of supporters turned up from the town and adjoining villages to express solidarity with him at the local Tahsildar office. Nani accused the CM of resorting to political vendetta against the MLAs for switching loyalties to Jagan. His harassment began the very moment the MLAs started working for the YSRCP, he alleged. The Eluru MLA said the CM was coming in the way of the constituency development ever since he joined the YSRCP. He failed to fulfil the promises made to people for Eluru development. He was settling political scores by denying Rs 17 crore funding for the underground drainage in One Town and funds for acquiring 150 acres of land necessary for providing shelter to 8,000 poor families, he said. Stating that the CM had linked development of Eluru with the earlier no-confidence motion introduced by the main Opposition party, Telugu Desam, the YSRCP MLA said he had voted against the motion to ensure funds to the constituency. But the CM distracted from his promise after tiding over the political crisis, he said. Claiming YS Rajasekhara Reddy as his political mentor, Nani said the former CM was liberal in granting funds to his constituency. While house sites to 8,000 poor families were distributed during his regime, proposals for sites to another 12,000 families did not realise after his accidental death, he said.A Earlier, the MLA led a huge motorcycle rally from his residence to the venue of the Deeksha.
