matchHydrebad: Late charge by Thisara Perera after flurry of wickets in mid overs helped Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Kings XI Punjab by five wickets in the IPL clash here at RGICS on Friday. Perera scored 23 off 11 balls to guide his side to abrilliant victory in the low scorer. After Punjab posted 123/9, pacer Praveen Kumar bowled out Hyderabad opener Quinton de Kock without a score on board. However, Akshath Reddy and Hanuma Vihari rescued the side from the early blow and made the target look gettable. Pacer Manpreet Gony got rid of Akshath Reddy (19) just before Hyderabad crossed 50- mark. SRH lost quick wickets of GH Vihari, Cameron White and BB Samantray that helped Punjab bounce back while defending 123 in the IPL clash. However, Perera held his nerve to guide Punjab to the target. Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad produced yet another disciplined bowling effort as Kings XI Punjab came up with an insensible batting performance to be restricted to 123 for nine. Placed at 102 for four after 16 overs, Kings XI made a harakiri and lost their next five wickets for just 21 runs to be restricted to the modest total. Opener Mandeep Singh was the first to depart in the third over. Skipper Adam Gilchrist then tried to forge a partnership along with Paul Valthaty. He showed glimpses of his past when he cut and pulled Thissara Perera for three boundaries in his first over to pick up 12 runs. Brief Scores: Kings XI Punjab 123 for nine (Adam Gilchrist 26, Karan Sharma 2/19) lost to SRH 127 for five (GH Vihari 46, T Perera 23 no, Manpreet Gony 2/24)
