Kochi: Indian Skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Wednesday unveiled the Sachin Tendulkar Pavilion at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi. The stakeholders of the stadium, the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) and the Greater Cochin Development Corporation (GCDC) have jointly decided to name the pavilion after the Cricket God of India, Sachin Tendulkar.

After unveiling the pavilion, the skipper went around the 1000 sq. ft. area of room which was fully occupied by the pictures of the legendry cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar. The center of attraction in the display was the T-shirt of Tendulkar which he signed and gifted to the KCA, sometime back. Of those pictures on display, the pictures of Sachin with Don Bradman and another with Brian Lara attracted many. Also, Tendulkar's childhood pictures were on display along with a cricket bat which has been signed by his Mumbai Indians teammates.
Later, while speaking to media, KCA official, Jayasekhar said the pavilion will be opened to all to take a look at the prized moments of the great cricketer. It is evident that the first One-Day International (ODI) between India and the West Indies will be played in this stadium on Thursday will be a day-night match. It is worth mentioning here that in a record 463 ODIs, Tendulkar had only two five-wicket hauls, both of which came at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.
