Damini fought off close competition from Maharashtra's Rayna Saldhana, but emerged victorious in the final stretch.
Swimming in the Speedo LZR Racer Suit, Damini was delighted at her performance in the first event. “I am extremely happy with my start at the National Championships and winning gold after a tough race” she said.
