Jagadeesh makes exit

Tirupati: In a serious setback to the host, its second seeded title contender Jagadeesh K was shown the door by sixth seeded Maisnam Meiraba of Manipur 16-21, 17-21 in the boys U-17 quarterfinal of the All India junior ranking badminton tournament here on Friday.

Kartikey Gulshan Kumar of Air India entered the semifinal of both U-17 and U19 categories. In the U-17 quarterfinal, top seed Kartikey defeated 12th seed Aakash Yadav of Delhi 21-13, 21-12 while in the U-19 he beat Aryamann Tandon of Gujarat 24-22, 21-12.
