Addressing a press conference in connection with All India Police Athletic Championship, he informed that the championship is being conducted every year under the aegis of the All India Police Sports Control Board by a Police organisation in rotation with the objective of fostering better relations among the police organizations while encouraging a healthy competition in the field of sports.

Shri Dharmendra Kumar stated that the Championship will bring together athletes from all the states and central organizations of the nation and provide them with a platform to showcase their talents.

“It is an established fact that CISF is performing multifaceted roles in protecting the critical infrastructure and sensitive establishments of national importance across the length and breadth of the country.

CISF came into existence in 1969 and today, the force has grown manifold and has emerged as a large multi skilled security force with the strength of one lakh and forty thousand personnel”, he said.

“CISF has always been a front runner in organizing various sporting events over the years. CISF sports personnel have also won accolades and recognition at national and international levels thereby bringing laurels to the force as well as the national level”, he added.

Dope test of the sports persons will be conducted by National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) at various points of time during the competitions as per the laid down norms.

Medical teams are being placed in readiness at the game & venue and the places of stay of the teams. CISF has made all efforts to make the stay of the players/officials comfortable and to make the championship a memorable event.

CISF extends its warm wishes and felicitations to all the participants and officials coming for this meet. Shri Kumar informed that 40 teams with approx 1000 sportspersons from central and State police organizations will be participating in the Championship.

About 120 officials from AFI and Telangana State Athletics Sports Federation have been associated for the smooth conduct of the games. The website of 65th AIPAC-2016 can be accessed through the website of CISF at www.cisf.gov.in.

The contact details of the organizing secretary, control room and the nodal office of the various committees are given. A souvenir is also being released by the CISF on the occasion of AIPAC-2016. A media centre with good number of computers and other facilities will be setup at the venue, he informed.

Additional Director General –PIB, Hyderabad Dr. P.J Sudhakar, IG-CISF and Director- NISA Shri Jagbir Singh, DIG-CISF and Shri M.R. Naik, were also present on the occasion.
