Football Tournament held at DLF Gardencity
Amid much fanfare and enthusiasm, a two-day inter-condominium Football Tournament, organized under the aegis of DLF Gardencity, was concluded here on Sunday at DLF Sports Complex in Sector 91, Gurgaon. The matches were played in three categories-Under 12 Boys & Girls, Under 18 Boys & Girls and above 18 Men’s.
Amid much fanfare and enthusiasm, a two-day inter-condominium Football Tournament, organized under the aegis of DLF Gardencity, was concluded here on Sunday at DLF Sports Complex in Sector 91, Gurgaon.
The matches were played in three categories-Under 12 Boys & Girls, Under 18 Boys & Girls and above 18 Men’s.
10 teams- NTH 90 Super Champs, NTH 86 Racers, Royal Enfield 86, NTH 91 Knights, FC NTH 90, Sr. Secondary School, Garhi, NTH 90 Bulls, NTH 90 Hurricane, United 86, NTH CA participated in this two-day tournament.
The winners were NTH 90 Super Champs (under 12 category), Sr. Secondary School, Gadhi (under 18) and NTH 90 Bulls(above 18) category.
All the teams participated with tremendous enthusiasm, keeping the crowd completely captivated. Residents also came in huge numbers to cheer their favourite teams.
Mr. Basant Yadav, an excited player said, ‘I have always been passionate about playing football and was delighted to be part of the tournament held at DLF Gardencity. We started early morning practice sessions to give our best performance during the matches. The tournament has given us the opportunity to bond with other football enthusiasts in the township’.
Commenting on the Football Tournament, Col. Tejbir Singh, AVP (Township), DLF said, ‘We are happy that the Football Tournament was a huge success. With football gaining popularity, the tournament saw enthusiastic participation by everyone. Sports events like these encourage team spirit and camaraderie amongst the players. It also offers a platform for the residents to interact with each other. We shall continue to organize sports as well as cultural events in DLF Gardencity’.
