Second seeded Saina brushed aside Slovakia\'s Martina Repiska 21-5, 21-10 while Praneeth beat Malaysia\'s R Satheishtharan 21-15, 21-13.
Bangkok: Title-contenders Saina Nehwal and B Sai Praneeth advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of Thailand Open after notching up straight-game wins in the women's and men's singles competition respectively, in Bangkok, on Wednesday.
Second seeded Saina brushed aside Slovakia's Martina Repiska 21-5, 21-10 while Praneeth beat Malaysia's R Satheishtharan 21-15, 21-13.
The 12th seeded Sourabh Verma struggled to beat Anand Pawar 21-17, 20-22, 21-14. Sai Uttejitha Rao beat Indonesia's Jesica Muljati 13-21, 24-22, 27-25 to enter the last 16.However, all other Indians Parupalli Kashyap, Shreyansh Jaiswal, Subhankar Dey, Rituparna Das, Reshma Karthik, Sri Krishna Priya Kudaravalli, Sali Rane and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde fell by the wayside.
