In a major boost to the shooting fraternity from Telangana State, DGP Anurag Sharma on Wednesday gave an assurance that the Delhi model of single window of arms license related work for sports shooters would shortly be initiated in Hyderabad.

In contrast to 24-hour procedure that takes place in the national capital, in Hyderabad it is a labourious six-month process.
Anurag Sharma made these observations during the closing ceremony of the IV Telangana State Shooting Competitions held at Shooting Ranges, SATS in Gachibowli.
The top cop praised the shooting talent that existed in the State. He wished that they would prove their mettle and corner glory in the bigger and more challenging national and international events.
Echoing similar sentiments and bolstering the shooters was the other categorical reassurance by A Dinakar Babu, the Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS).
Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was in the forefront of sports promotion and their all-round development, Dinakar Babu pointed out that the ranges would be suitably upgraded so that they could successfully bid for the conduct of national and international competitions. He said that this would require close to Rs 10 core.
