Super double for Snehit and Varuni
S Fidel R Snehit of Global Table Tennis Academy (GTTA), who turns 17 on Tuesday, earned for himself a wonderful birthday gift by notching up a double in the inaugural Sri Chaitanya Educational Institution-sponsored Telangana State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament at Stag Table Tennis Academy here on Monday.
Hyderabad: S Fidel R Snehit of Global Table Tennis Academy (GTTA), who turns 17 on Tuesday, earned for himself a wonderful birthday gift by notching up a double in the inaugural Sri Chaitanya Educational Institution-sponsored Telangana State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament at Stag Table Tennis Academy here on Monday.
It was double joy even for the hugely gifted teenager from Gujarati Seva Mandali (GSM) Varuni Jaiswal as she also pocketed two singles titles.
Varuni won the junior and youth titles defeating Lassya from MLR in both summit clashes.Meanwhile, it was Snehit who stole the show when he rallied from a first game loss to thwart the bid of Dr Chandrachud from GSM with a 4-1 verdict in the men finals.
It has been a remarkable showing by the Junior India No 2, who is currently training under S Raman in Chennai. On that count, his winning the junior boys title here was for the asking.
Incidentally, Snehit will be moving over the for India conditioning and preparatory camp on Wednesday from where he will participate in the Jordan event at Amman.
