India's Ishan Pandita to embark a new football journey with Nastic

Bengaluru: Ishan Pandita is set for new journey, this time with Club Gimnàstic de Tarragona. Just more than two years after becoming the first Indian to sign a professional contract with a La Liga club. Nastic is one of the oldest football clubs in Spain with their history dating back to 1886. 

The 20-year-old has inked a short term deal, for five months, with the club, commonly referred to as Nastic, with both the player and club having the option of extending the contract. However, the striker will play with Nastic’s affiliate club CF Pobla de Mafumet, who is also their farm team, playing in the Tercera Division – Group 5 in the beginning. The pacy attacker will be wearing jersey number 32. 

Pandita told, “I had my first training session on Monday and I was with the U-23s. I am going to start with them, get some rhythm, maybe play few games and once I'm ready they will move me up to the first team”. 

This will be the third club in Spain that will be added on Pandita’s resume having played for UD Almeria’s Under-18 team and Leganes. It was all going well for the striker with the La Liga side but an ill-fated injury disrupted his progress.
