Hyderabad: South Western Railway cycling team bagged the 56thAll India Railway Championship of Track Cycling held at the Osmania University Cycling Velodrome, Hyderabad. In the finals played on January 10, South Western Railway bagged the Gold Medal.
North Western Railway bagged the Silver Medal and South Central Railway bagged the Bronze Medal. This Championship was organised by South Central Railway Sports Association (SCRSA), Secunderabad.
John Thomas, Additional General Manager, South Central Railway presented the winners championship to South Western Railway. A total of nine teams representing various Zonal Railways participated in the tournament held from January 8-10.
Raju Bhati, Ticket Examiner / Hubballi, J.K Aswin, Ticket Examiner / Hubballi, Sandesh Uppar, Ticket Examiner / Bagalkot, Ganesh Pawan, Ticket Examiner / Bagalkot, Aswin Patil, Ticket Examiner / Vijayapura, Anil Manglaw, Ticket Examiner / Vijayapura, Mallappa M, Ticket Examiner / Bagalkot, Basappa M.T, Pointsman / Vijayapura were the members of cycling team from South Western Railway that won the championship.
